Washburn
In the year 1883, in Chicago, George Washburn initiated a tradition of excellence by introducing the first stringed instruments bearing the Washburn name, which were affordable for amateur musicians. Subsequently, by 1889, Washburn had risen to become the foremost manufacturer of mandolins in the United States.
